He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Buchanan; his son James Buchanan; and his grandchild Ryan Buchanan. He is survived by: his child Thomas Buchanan (Melinda); his grandchildren, Brooke Suchomski (Jason Jordan), Bonnie Murray (Steve) and Brittany Carroll (Jim); and his great grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Taylor, Grace, Samantha, Rhyan and Rusty.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Lauterburg&oehler Funeral Home (2000 E Northwest Hwy, Arlington Heights, IL 60004). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
