He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Rhodes and Velma Rogers Hudson Sr.; his wife Catherine Jean List; his son Cecil "Buddy" Hudson Jr.; and his brother James Hudson.

He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Keith (Mark) of Kiefer, Oklahoma, Becky Howes (David) of Saybrook, Illinois and Hannah Hudson (Jim Adams) of Dewey, Illinois; his grandchildren, Allison Hitchings (Bret), James Howes and Hunter Adams; his great grandchildren, Carter, Asher and Brenna Hitchings; and his brother Richard Hudson of Saybrook, Illinois..

Memorials may be made to the Gibson Area Hospital Annex, Gibson City, Illinois.
