He is survived by: his sons, Steve Tjarks (Jacque) of Saybrook and Rick Tjarks (Jane) of New Sharon, Iowa; his grandchildren, LeeAnn Tjarks, Kristi Kern (Eric), Bradley Tjarks, Kimberli Kern (Ryan), Erick Tjarks (Amanda) and Mackenzi Tjarks; and his great grandchildren, Violet Ann Kern, Ava Grace Kern, Titus Matthew Kern and Ezekiel James Kern.
