She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin H. Hess, Sr. and Marie Raymond; and her brother Marvin Hess. She is survived by: her husband John Vinton; her children, Monica Ritz of Champaign, Dean Vinton of Champaign, Elena Vinton of Champaign and Anna Vinton of Champaign; her son-in-law Stefan Ritz; and her grandchildren, Kylie, Ella, Rosalie and Everlie Ritz.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, for Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy research, with the hopes that other families may have more time with their favorite people.
