He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Schweighart and Janetta Schweighart; his brother Gaylord; and his son Greg. He is survived by: his wife Beverly; and his children, Tim Schweighart (Jackie), Alan Schweighart (Sandra), Cindee Alexander (Steve) and Susie Carroll (Scott Davis). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Champaign-Urbana Optimist Club.
