It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Thompson of Savoy, Illinois, born in Marshall, Illinois, who passed away on June 3, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Thompson and Emma Gard Thompson; his stepmother Edna; his brothers, Bill, Herman and Harold Thompson; and his daughter Jill Thompson.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Lee Burns; his children, Jim Thompson (Peggy) of Sadorus, Tom Thompson (Sally) of Champaign and Nancy Thompson of Savoy; his grandchildren, Beth Hicks (Greg) of Highlands Ranch, Heather Thompson of Springfield, James Thompson (Katherine) of Sadorus, Joel Thompson of Sadorus, Charles Heidbreder (Lynne) of Iowa and Emma Heidbreder (Chris) of Olympia, Washington; his great grandchildren, Noah, Alana, Mia, Adam, Hayley, Nataley and Jameson; and his siblings, Warren Thompson (Terry), Melvin Thompson (Jane), Glen Thompson (Patricia), Ray Thompson (Esther), Bob Thompson (Carol), Marcella Scott (Ron), Charlotte Brown (Tom), Wanda Pine (Rick) and Janet Hetherington.
