He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clarence Wilkening and Lora Wilkening (Lane); his wife Mary Lou; his children, Brian Wilkening (Rose) of Rochester Hills, MI and Teresa Wittmer (Ken) of Elmhurst, IL; his grandchildren, Tatum, Sam, Devon and Logan; and his nephew Kyle Murphy (Sarah).
