With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ira Overbeck of Sandoval, Illinois, born in Centralia, Illinois, who passed away on July 24, 2020 at the age of 80. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ira Overbeck to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Overbeck and Mary Overbeck (Manhart); his wife Dorothy Overbeck; and his brother-in-law Harold Speiser. He is survived by: his children, Dennis Overbeck (Debbie) of Centralia and Rhoda Newnum (Steve Lusch) of Centralia; his grandchildren, Jason Altenbaumer of Hoyleton, Marah Elliot (Mike) of Germantown, Kelsey Wilson of Paducah and Katie Overbeck (Josiah Bates) of Centralia; his great grandchildren, Justice Altenbaumer, Morgan Elliot, Sawyer Elliot and Nova Bates; his sister Mary Speiser of Boulder; and his close friend Betty Sullens of Patoka. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Diamond Springs Baptist Church and will be accepted by the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street in Centralia, Illinois 62801 (618) 532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Overbeck family.
