It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John McGinnis Sr. of San Jose, Illinois, born in Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on August 22, 2020, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford H. McGinnis and Neomia M. McGinnis (Fletcher); and his brother Kenneth McGinnis. He is survived by: his wife Brenda L. Lee; his children, John McGinnis, Jr. (Cherri) of San Jose, Michael McGinnis (Alicia) of San Jose and Sherril McGinnis (Tim) of Pekin; his grandchildren, Harley, Doug, Mark, Kayla, Emily, Caitlyn and Ruth; his great grandchild Lyla; and his siblings, Dale McGinnis of Lincoln, Clifford McGinnis (Bernice) of Canton, Will McGinnis (Violet) of Mason City and Beverly Shelby of Topeka.
Those attending the visitation and funeral are asked to respect social distancing and follow mask guidelines.
