He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley W. Zimmer and Agnes Lydia Miller Zimmer; his brother David Zimmer; and his granddaughter Kailey Wilmarth. He is survived by: his children, Shelli Wilmarth (Gary) of Chatham, Doug Zimmer (Beth) of Delavan, Diana Seifert (Steve) of Naples, FL and Ronald Zimmer (Barb) of Lexington, KY; his grandchildren, Brian Wilmarth (Jess), Neil Wilmarth (Shannon), Jordan Zimmer (Carolyn), Brady Zimmer (Elizabeth), Maddison Seibring (Trevor), Michael Seifert (Sarah Gabel), Katie Smith (Matt), Julia Zimmer and Joshua Zimmer; his great grandchildren, Micah, Levi, Finn, Logan, Sam, Will, Joe, Tori, Noah, Isaac, Sophia, Bennett, Emery and Lily Gabel; his sisters, Maxine Lolling (Richard) of Lincoln, Judy Taylor (Bob) of Delavan and Carol Egli (Joe) of Indianapolis, IN; and his sister-in-law Jayne Zimmer of Lincoln. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Delavan United Methodist Church, Common Ground, Kogudus Retreats, Camp Griesheim, Kailey's Krew, or donors choice.

“I just learned today that Bill had passed away. I have very fond memories of playing on the women's fast pitch team in Delavan back in the 70's. He and Janet tried corralling a wild group of teenagers and young adult women! He was always so friendly, encouraging, and helpful. He called me "Fergie". We both had a great love of the Chicago Cubs and especially Ferguson Jenkins who was a favorite pitcher of the time. May sweet memories like these, help to ease the pain of his loss. Gayla Scott”
