She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Wesley and Madeline Shaffer (Wells); her husband Leon L. Miller; her children, Terry Miller and Sue Hammer; her brothers, John W. Shaffer, Paul Shaffer and David Shaffer; her foster brother Herbert Anderson; her sister Wilma Vandeveer; her son-in-law Frank Hammer; and her siblings-in-law, Herbert Vandeveer, Ruby Shaffer, Pearl Shaffer and Imogene Anderson.
She is survived by: her children, Edward Miller (Terri) of Kinmundy and Vivian Hale (Jim) of Decatur; her grandchildren, Jay Cobb of Decatur, Becky Reardon (Marc) of Decatur and Beth Fujinuma (Ryo) of Japan; her great grandchildren, Lily Reardon, Jade Cobb, Tori Cobb and Kazuo Fujinuma; and her sister-in-law Margaret Shaffer of Odin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in Ruth's memory are suggested to Brown Christian Church, Evergreen Christian Church or to BCMW Project B.R.E.A.D.
