He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Roy Steinhoff, Sr. and Margaret Frances Scheminger Steinhoff; his son David Steinhoff; and his siblings, Alton R. Steinhoff II and Rita O'Donnell.
He is survived by: his wife Linda R. Cannon (Smith); his daughter Elizabeth Steinhoff of California; his stepchildren, Kent Rice (Melody) of Xenia, IL and Marcie Cook (Gary) of Rinard; and his siblings, Michael Steinhoff (Deborah), Rosemary Anderson of Colorado and Sarah Combs of Arizona.
