It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marvin Lee Elkins Jr. of Salem, Illinois, born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, who passed away on November 23, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin L. Elkins, Sr. and Violet P. Elkins (Duncan); his sister Erain Lanza; his father-in-law Bill Niepoetter; and his sister-in-law Joyce Tyler (Niepoetter).
He is survived by: his wife Jan Elkins (Niepoetter) of Salem; his sons, Scott Stelzriede (Denise) of Denver and Bryan Stelzriede (Tanya) of Aurora, Colorado; his grandchildren, Maya, Simon, Avery and Bristol; his mother-in-law Emma Niepoetter of Centralia; and his siblings-in-law, Joan Gannon (Daniel "Goose") of Centralia, Jim Niepoetter of Centralia, Jeff Niepoetter (Kathy) of Centralia and Jay Niepoetter (Louise) of College Park, Maryland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
