It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alfred Burmeister of Salem, Illinois, born in Centralia, Illinois, who passed away on October 24, 2020, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred Henry and Durall Burmeister (Bierman); his sister Mary Showalter; his niece Elizabeth Showalter; and his great-nephew Kyle.
He is survived by: his brother-in-law Gary Showalter (June) of Iuka, Illinois; his nieces and nephews, Alan Bryan of Pinckneyville, Illinois, Marilyn Showalter of Iuka, Illinois, Julie Showalter of Iuka, Illinois, Anna Ewert of Pinckneyville, Illinois and Gary Showalter, Jr. (Jodi) of Dahlgren, Illinois; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, John Alex Showalter, Josh, Faith Showalter and Reagan.
The family ask those who are attending to please be mindful of social distancing, wear a mask, and take any health precautions necessary to ensure a healthy environment.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Burmeister's honor to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, Illinois and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home at 134 South Elm Street in Centralia, Illinois.
