He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Whitehead and Iris Whitehead (Springman). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Montaya; his daughter Michelle (David Schukar); his grandson Scott Hull (Brianna) of Vandalia; his daughter Janie Lee (Jay Clasper) of Kinmundy, IL; and his sisters, Eugenia Hummel of Missouri and Tabitha (Ron Marx) of Utah. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
