He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Schmitt and Doris Schmitt; his siblings, Richard Schmitt and Karen Schmitt Row; and his brother-in-law Charles Row.
He is survived by: his brother Gerald Schmitt of Highland, IL; and his sister-in-law Laverne Schmitt of Staunton, IL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
