He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Etling and Gwendolyn Etling (Kluge); his wife Loraine Etling; and his siblings, Dorothy Etling Helfrich and Charles "Coke" Etling.

He is survived by: his daughters, Christie Etling and Catherine Mitchell (Bryan); his grandchildren, Erin Dominov, Patrick Dominov (Amy), Bryce Mitchell and Bethany Cook (Brad); his great grandchildren, Eli Cook and James Dominov; and his sister-in-law Carol Etling. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
