Laurence C. Dunkel Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Laurence C. Dunkel of Saint Francisville, Illinois, born in Mount Carmel, Illinois, who passed away on March 26, 2021 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmet Dunkel and Lorene Dunkel (Ankenbrand); his siblings, Bill Dunkel (Helen), Catherine Basinger (Robert) and Mary McGregor (Carlos); and his sister-in-law Elizabeth "Ann" Dunkel.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Staley; his children, Michael Rose (Angie) of Wooster, Ohio, Jamie Glaefke (Jon) of Boulder, Colorado and Rebecca Hranko (Jim) of Boulder, Colorado; his grandchildren, Kate Kranko, Justin Howell and Jamon Howell; his great grandchild Cooper Howell; and his siblings, Jerry Dunkel of Mount Carmel and Alma Wood (Rollo) of Terre Haute, Indiana. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Social distancing, wearing of face coverings and use of hand sanitizer is recommended for Visitation and Mass.
Memorial contributions may be made in Laurence's memory to Saint Mary's Catholic School and will be accepted at the Church or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
