With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Barbara Ann Smith of Saint Elmo, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sidney Doty and Roberta Doty (Rogers); her son Michael N. Smith; and her brother Robert Doty of Wright's Corner. She is survived by: her husband R. Neil Smith; her daughters, Cathy Strange (Curt) of Freelandville, IN and Nancy Mills (Larry Worman) of Effingham; her children-in-law, Shannon Smith of Shelbyville and Mark Mills of St. Elmo; her sisters-in-law, Joyce Morgan (Jim) of Taylorville and Nancy Doty of Carbondale; her granddaughters, Heather Mills, Lindsey Mills, Cassidy Strange and Ashton Smith; and her pet Anna.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Effingham County Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
