He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Childress and Dorothy Childress (Guffy); his wife Billie Childress; his siblings, Glen Ray and Debra Gwyn; and his brother-in-law Harold Grubaugh.
He is survived by: his daughter Kelly White (Brian); his sisters, Donna Engelman (Jim) and Joyce Grubaugh; and his grandchildren, Sloane Childress (Shana) and Rebel Childress. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans or any veteran's organization of the donor's choice.
