She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Bischel and Lucy Bischel (Ruff); her brothers, Daniel and Peter; and her sisters-in-law, Kathryn, Janice and Carol.

She is survived by: her husband Larry; her children, Jill Niemi (Ross) of Sheboygan, Eric Rakunas (Kelly) of St. Charles and Kara Boyle (Scott) of LaGrange Park; her grandchildren, Ethan, John Niemi, Charlie, Bryce Rakunas, Lucy and Ruby Boyle; and her brothers, Harold (Sharon), William, Thomas and Mark Bischel (Patricia). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Malone Funeral Home (324 E State St, Geneva, IL 60134). A wake was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 at 7:45 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Church (1891 Kaneville Rd, Geneva, IL 60134).

“At 5 years old Mary was spunky & already independent-minded--she had to be in order to hold her own as the youngest child & only girl in a family with six boisterous older brothers. As an adult, Mary's prime concerns were her family & her home & her faith, although she also maintained a marked empathy for the world outside as well.
