Linda Leigh Harper Obituary

Linda Leigh Harper (nee Carlson) peacefully transitioned to new life on September 3, 2021 at the age of 56 years with her family by her side. Linda leaves her loving husband Richard Michael Harper and two lovely daughters, Margaret (19) and Amy (16). In addition to her husband and daughters, Linda is survived by her mother, Catherine (Kitty) Carlson and her father Charles Leigh Carlson, and her brothers, David and Jeff (Robin). Linda is preceded in death by her brother James. Linda is also survived by many nieces and nephews who she cherished as her own, Peter Ramirez (Kristin), Daniel Harper, Katherine Ramirez-Abreu (Monica), Kathleen Harper Owens (Antonio), Megan Harper, Caroline Ramirez, Matthew Carlson, Amanda Harper (Matt), Sarah Harper, Andi Harper, Matthew Harper, and Scott Carlson. Linda had many friends who will miss her greatly.

Linda was a devoted mother and wife. Linda most enjoyed spending time with Rich on the soccer pitch watching her talented daughters compete at the family's favorite game. The family travelled together, made many friends in the soccer community and built lasting relationships. Linda was so happy to have been able to watch Margaret's game just two days before she passed.

Linda had a wonderful dry sense of humor appreciated by all. She was the first pick in every game of trivia, as she had an uncanny memory and the ability to instantly recall obscure facts.

Rich and Linda inspired others in their support of each other and their girls. When Linda's melanoma returned five years after initial diagnosis and treatment, her prognosis was not good. Linda fought the cancer with every ounce of her being so that she would continue to be part of her daughters' lives for as long as possible. The fight not was not easy and her effort was nothing short of heroic. Rich was by her side through every surgery, radiation and immunotherapy treatment.

The family wishes to thank each and every person who supported them during these past two and a half years. Every meal, every visit, every phone call, and every prayer provided inspiration and encouragement to push on for another day.

Linda is now free of her pain and suffering and enjoying eternal life in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. She will always be with us.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12th 2021 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the M. Yurs Funeral Home (405 E Main St, St. Charles, IL 60174). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 13th 2021 at 10:30 AM at the M. St. John Neumann Catholic Church (2900 E Main St, St. Charles, IL 60174).
