He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Zak and Agnes Zak; his brother-in-law John Rohan U. S. Marines; his sister Rita; his sister-in-law Jerilyn Zak; his son Christopher (Laurie Zak); and also, John, Jean Rohan and Robert Rawson.
He is survived by: his significant other Margaret Ann Rohan; his son Charles Kanute; his brother Paul; his children, Michael Zak (Diane), Patrick Zak (Stephanie), Kathleen Vermaat (John), Maureen Bergeson (Richard), Timothy Zak, Peter Zak (Kimberly) and Eileen Buck (Jeffery); and his grandchildren, Jennifer, Annette, Edward, Christopher, Daniel, Colleen, Alex, Kelley, Jason and Katy. He is also survived by his 13 great grandchildren.
