It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Powell of Rushville, Illinois, who passed away on April 12, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Richard Powell to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gale Powell and Theda Powell (Drain); his wife Myrna Gorsuch; his son Rodney Powell; his grandchildren, R. Darren Powell and Carrie Powell; and his siblings, Bob Powell and Jeannine Shanks.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Powell (Barb Tolle) of Camden, Rex Powell (Kay) of Rushville and Mitzi Kruse (Mike) of Rushville; his grandchildren, Buffee Powell-Merrick, Rusty Powell, Sacha Turner (Steve), Shelly Eddings (Rich), Corey Kruse (Kayla Sargent), Ryan Powell (Candi), Tara Powell, Kayla Boudreaux (Carlos), Megan Powell, Brenna Williams (Jordan), Ty Powell (Viola Dunn), Drew Mathewson, Cory Powell, Marcy Mathewson (Mike Armstrong), Riley Powell and Sara Powell; his great grandchildren, Ridge Merrick, Leah, Heidi, Sophie, Micah Turner, Carley, Cacey Benton, Alexis Eddings, Ashlyn Stice, Maddie, Josie Sargent, Heaton, Canyon Powell, Jacobi Nichols, Kylie, Hunter, Kaycee, Marcus, Gunner, Kayleen Boudreaux, Benjamin, Levi, Joshua Williams and Malaki Clark; his sisters, Linda Brown, Ruth Ann Horwedel, Kay McClelland and Cindee McClelland (Morris); and his pet Pumpkin.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Triplett & Wood Funeral Home (900 W Wilson St, Rushville, IL 62681). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in memory of Dick are suggested to Sugar Grove Methodist Church or to the Schuyler County FFA.
