With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Root of Rushville, Illinois, who passed away on October 17, 2024 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parent Lottie Shanks; and her brother Lee Holmes. She is survived by: her sons, Shawn Carter (Laura), Nathan Carter (Tammy), Gregory Root (Michelle) and Jared Root (Amanda); and her brother Tony Holmes. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to be made to Pike County Animal Shelter.
