With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elaine Norton (Rushville, Illinois), born in Ithaca, New York, who passed away on March 28, 2020 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Cassady and Mildred Belle Harris (Hausner); her daughter Terri Hamm; and her son-in-law Greg Shelton. She is survived by: her former husband Billy Thornton; her husband Clarence "Pa" "Dusty" Norton; her children, Lynne Shelton of Quincy, Suzy Hammon (Bob) of Rushville, Tom Thornton (Johnna) of Springfield and Brenda King of Quincy; her grandchildren, Shardai Shelton (Christopher Wiese), Dr. Jarod Shelton (Pauline Derlacki), Jenny Wolf (Michael Thompson), Robin Bailey (Kyle), Erin Hammon, John Thornton, Kaylon Thornton (Emilie Heckenkamp), Logan Thornton, Kenny Bradshaw, Michael Thornton, Corey McMurl, Christopher Self, Johnny Hamm (Chelsey) and Nathan Hamm (Heather); and her sister Bonnie Raney of Temecula. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Littleton or the Schuyler Senior Center.
