It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Leonard Cook of Royalton, Illinois, born in Du Quoin, Illinois, who passed away on August 26, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Cook and Pearl Cook (Pierce); and his siblings, Billie Cook, Brian Cook, Bobby Cook, Nancy McClanahan, Norma Sweatland, Ruth Ann Reeves and Joyce Lucas.

He is survived by: his spouse Marvlin Chitwood; his son Kevin Cook (Erin) of Royalton; his grandson Darren Cook; and his sisters, Janice Hart (Kenny) of Jerseyville, IL, Kathy Stanton of Dowell, Sharon Welch (Chuck) of Florida and Joan Malotte (Bob) of Wintergarden, FL..
