He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobert Fugate and Becky Fugate; and his son Joseph Fugate. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Fugate; his son William Fugate (Meenoo); his granddaughter Sophia Fugate; and his siblings, Callie, Martha, Leo, Clyde, Lillie, Laverna, Logan and Bobby James.
