She was predeceased by: her father Bill Burns; and her sister Teresa Bunsen. She is survived by: her mother Betty Burns; her sons, Steven Peklay (Priscilla Kersey) and Christopher Peklay (Zach McHardy); her grandchildren, Kiara and Aiden; and her sisters, Roxanne BurnsVatter and Lilynn Kattner.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Ringa Funeral Home (122 S Milwaukee Ave, Lake Villa, IL 60046). A memorial service was held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 6:30 PM at the same location.
