It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward L. Grooms of Round Lake, Illinois, who passed away on August 8, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Aster Grooms and Irene Grooms; his former wife Ineetha J. Grooms; and his siblings, Don Grooms, Rachel Grooms and Harlus Grooms.

He is survived by: his wife Nur Erturk-Grooms; his children, Sandra Grooms-Purtell and David Grooms (Laura); his grandchildren, Madison Weiler (Logan), Chase Purtell and Ariel Grooms; his great grandchildren, Leo, Hollyn and Marnie; and his extended family, Baha, Mary Ertürk, Sema, Oğuz Sargın, Fatma Anınmış, Ceylan, Dan Rowe, Enis Anınmış, Esra Mitchell, Adem, Katie Ertürk and Erol Ertürk. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He worked at MacLean & Fogg for 52 years and made incredible contributions to success of the company.

“Ed grooms will be missed by my sister and I dearly as we grew up with him and Sandi and, David. Our father was a long-term more like a brother when they were younger and worked together at Mcleans. We are very sorry to hear he is no longer with us and our hearts are broken. Our deepest condolences to all of you. Rest in peace for you are no more in pain.
