He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Cooper and Betty Cooper; his brothers, Tom, Bob and Bill Cooper; and his father-in-law William Jones, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Cooper; his children, George Cooper (Angela), Rachel Sittler (Josh) and Lisa Griffel (Andy); and his grandchildren, Alex, Jana, Magnum, Riley, Corey and Jack. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
