He was predeceased by: his parents, Glafiro Fernandez and Mercedes Lomas; his sisters, Teresa Fernandez and Francisca Fernandez; and his grandson Ivan Fernandez.
He is survived by: his wife Belen Fernandez (Sanchez); his children, Glafiro Fernandez (Jake Theodore), Gerardo (Anita Fernandez), Marcos Fernandez, Julio Cesar (Jessica Fernandez), Nancy (Victor Murguia), Richard Fernandez and Patty Fernandez (Donald Schneider, Jr.); his grandchildren, Taylor Kayleen Fernandez (Brian Stedronsky), Adam Fernandez (Haley Surroz), Alexis Fernandez, Sam Fernandez, Silma Velazquez, Mateo DeMarco Fernandez, Emily V. Murguia, Emilio Joel Murguia and Chris Fernandez; his great grandchildren, Caleb Zachas, Lukas Zachas, Adam Jaqs Fernandez and Levi Stedronsky; and his siblings, Rosa Maria Marquez and Federico Alanis. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In accordance with public gathering restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a mask and observe social distancing.
