He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Humm and Sue Humm; his son James Humm, Jr.; his granddaughter Erica Humm; and his brother Larry Humm.

He is survived by: his children, Melissa Hobbs of Harrisburg, IL, Brandy Humm of Harrisburg, IL, Jennifer Humm of Owensboro, KY and Jeremy Humm of Harrisburg, IL; and his siblings, Patsy German of Harrisburg, IL, Ramona Dale of Tennessee and Don Conkle (Dana Anderson) of Sesser, IL. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
