He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles F. Volkert and Mary Agnes Volkert (Forwe); and his brothers, Omer, Adolph and Mark Volkert.
He is survived by: his wife Elva; his daughters, Lucy Missele (Fred) and Angela Allanson (Robert); his siblings, Laurence Volkert and Virginia Rose Angermeier (Walt); his grandchildren, Jill Jaramski (Bill), Joy McCarron (Jim), Jennifer Moore (T. J.), Jeannine McCarron (Terry), Crystal Paunan (Michael) and Robert Allanson (Kristen); and his great grandchildren, Mikayla Horn, Madison McCarron, Meara McCarron, Reilly Moore, Owen Moore, Sienna Jaramski, Sage Jaramski, Enya McCarron, Piper Moore, Lily Paunan, Penny Paunan, Maddy Paunan and Michael Allanson.
In accordance with COVID-19 social restrictions, private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church Elgin followed by burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School, 103 S. Gifford Street, Elgin IL 60120.
