He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecelia Thelma (Aspenson) and Lawrence Alfred Symons; his wife Sharon Kay Symons; his son Jeffrey Milton Symons; and his stepfather Milton Bernard Aumann.

He is survived by: his children, Clint Symons of Madison, WI and Christina Symons of Rockford, IL; his grandchildren, Keaton Symons of Machesney Park, IL, Matthew Larson of Farmington, MO, Brooke Symons of Rockford, IL, Nathan Larson of Farmington, MO, Carrie Steele and Deacon Steele of Rockford, IL; his great grandchildren, Zaedyn Bauer, Kavaiah Sams, Ka'vetta Sams, Neighlynn Sams and De'lonzo Sams; and his siblings, Richard Symons of Machesney Park, IL and Deborah Aumann Modawell of Talladega, AL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
