He was predeceased by: his parents, David Stuart "Pete" and Vivian Cummings (Updyke); and his brother Herbie. He is survived by: his close friend Phyllis Bender; his wife Phyllis; his children, Jeff Cummings (Debbie), Jackie Turbot (Rod) and Jodie Larson (Garry); his grandchildren, Matt Cummings (Randi), Roger Cummings (Tia Walls), Travis Larson (Katie), Alysha Cummings and Skyler Cummings; his great grandchildren, Jillian Cummings, Isabel Cummings, Tailynn Cummings, Dylan Kotsch, Kendyll Cummings and Tatum Cummings; and his siblings, Bruce Cummings (Susan) and Virginia Baker (Jeff). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
