He was predeceased by: his parent Maybelle Howe; his sibling James L. Howe (late Irene); and his daughter Patricia Howe. He is survived by: his parent James S. Howe; and his children, Donald Howe, Geegan, John and James. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago would be appreciated.
