He was predeceased by: his mother Iola Mitchell; his wife Mary Yale; his half-brothers, Bill Maavich, Wayne Maavich, Sam Maavich and Joe Maavich; and his son-in-law Robert "Red" Holtzman.
He is survived by: his children, Robert "Bob" Mitchell of Durand, IL, Connie Mitchell of Beloit, WI and Laura Mitchell-Holtzman of Shell Lake, WI; his grandchildren, Amanda (Carlos), Lane, Sarah (Karl), Stephanie and Josh; and his half-brothers, Jim Maavich (Sandy), Mike Maavich (Sue) and Tom Maavich. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the family.
