He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Kocher and Marion Kocher of Rockton; his grandson Aaron Zehner; and his brother Robert (Bob). He is survived by: his wife Claudia Kay Sudds; his children, Richard and Abigail Zehner (Brent); his grandchildren, Caleb, Josiah, Matthew Zehner, Jordan, Megan Kocher and Morgan Phelps (Jared); his brother John (Patty); his great grandchild Colt; and his sisters-in-law, Paula Malone, Sara Sudds (Frank) and Vicki Kocher. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
