He was predeceased by: his parents, Sabas Gomez and Eliza Gomez (Cuellar); and his brother-in-law Denver Smith. He is survived by: his wife Susan Burch; his children, Yvonne Pedroza (Guadalupe), Juan Gomez (Summer), Mark Gomez (Amber), Immacula Gomez and Laura Gomez (Nathan Speck); his grandchildren, Ysena, Eric, Selena, Gianna (Matthew Vega), Fabian, Asher, Siriana, Kyler, Peyton, Josslyn Gomez and Scarlett Speck; his great grandchildren, Jaylen, Yazlene, Santino, Gianni and Mateo; his sister Maria Smith; his nieces and nephews, Marivel Gonzalez, Julian Gonzalez, Eliza Guerrero (Robert), AJ Gonlalez Cassandra Salazar, JJ Salazar, Michael Salazar and David Salazar; his parents-in-law, Betty Marschang (Steve) and James Burch (Anne); his sister-in-law Sheri Schwartz (Jason); and his nieces and nephews, Shelby Misfeldt (Drew), Skyler Adams (Brittany), Sydney Schwartz and Sawyer Schwartz. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the Grace Funeral & Cremation Services (4301 N Main St, Rockford, IL 61103). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Sal's family.
