He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry C. Johnston and Ruth Johnston; his wife Annie Ruth Harris; and his siblings, Robert, Willie Johnston, Christine Head and Catherine Peoples.
He is survived by: his children, Linda F. Crawford (Benny Sr.), Sherrie L. Bias (Dennis), Perry G. Johnston IV and Bradley C. Johnston; his grandchildren, Benny Jr., Kenneth, Dennis II, Anntonisha (Sean), Perry V., Jade, Charlie and Chaz; and his goddaughter Trishinda Black. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethel Baptist Church (724 Harrison Ave, Rockford, IL 61104). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
