He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Scarpetta and Angela Scarpetta (Lombardo). He is survived by: his wife Carol Scarpetta; his children, John Scarpetta (Veda), Belinda Lund (David) and Barbara Wolf (Bruce); his grandchildren, Gina Scarpetta, Nicholas Scarpetta (Erin), Mike Lund (Katie), Nathan Wolf (Melissa), Stephanie Hoftender (Scott) and Ashley Anderson (Austin); his great grandchildren, Samantha, Maggie, Kevin, Brooke, Leo, Dylan, Addison, Jake and Quinn; and his friends, Bill Powell (Sonia) and Kay Ridlon. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special neighbors.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (1010 Ferguson St, Rockford, IL 61102). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Parish (1010 Ferguson St, Rockford, IL 61102). An entombment was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery - Winnebago/Rockford (8616 W State Rd, Winnebago, IL 61088).
