We bid farewell to Mary Ann Hirsch of Rockford, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 11, 2024 at the age of 88. Mary Ann touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Toohill and Mary Toohill (O'Rourke); her siblings, Catherine Dennis (Tom), Lawrence Toohill (Bernadine) of Heyworth, Dr. Robert Toohill (Kay) of Milwaukee and Don Toohill (Cleo) of Peoria; and also Frank.
She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth "Betty" Hirsch (Greg Peterson) of Libertyville, James "Jim" Hirsch (Michele Arms) of Rockford, Diana Rooney (Dan) of Crystal Lake, Karen Holst (Bob) of Rockford and Stephen "Steve" Hirsch (Stacy) of Rockford; her grandchildren, Corey, Brianna (Josh), Emily Rose Hirsch, Patrick (Amanda), Allison Rooney, Lisa (Aaron), Bobby (Ashley), Andrew (Angel) and Sean Holst; her great grandchildren, Akalina, Nani, Alamea, Gabriella, Guiliana, Logan, Jaxon, Cameron, Hailey, Hunter, Scarlett, Cabhan and Alice; and her siblings, Martin Toohill (Sally) of Clinton, Richard Toohill (Nancy) of Davenport, Michael Toohill (Kathryn) of Quail Valley, Ellen Schweri (Paul) of Chicago, Julia Johnston of Acton and Winifred Adler (Tom) of Lafayette. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Rita Catholic Church (6254 Valley Knoll Dr, Rockford, IL 61109). A Mass was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at the Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery (6202 Charles St, Rockford, IL 61108).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anne's Place and Sienna on Brendenwood.
