She is survived by: her husband John Thayer; and her children, Robert, Julie Whalen (David) and Kathy Sharp (Joe). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Northern Illinois Hospice.
