She is survived by: her mother Julia Vela; her children, Cecilia Lomeli (Sean McDonald), Julia Lomeli (Juan Herrera), Alexandra Lomeli (Andrew Holmes), Rubi Lomeli (Jesus Flores), Alvino Vela and Isaac Vela; her grandchildren, Alvino Vela Jr., Johnny Vela, Angel Belmontes, Orlando Espinoza, Adrian Herrera, Jesus Flores, Santino Flores, Leonidas Vela, Alexis Herrera, Kasandra Herrera, Melanie Herrera, Arianna Lomeli, Natalie Flores, Valerie Flores, Lily Flores, Ellie Flores, Nayeli Holmes and Sophia Holmes; and her siblings, Diana Vela, Janie Gomez (Fernando), Debbie Vela, Emma Herrera (Fred), Ricardo Vela, Trine Vela (Modesta) and Alvaro Vela (Sylvia). She is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. (200 N Johnston Ave, Rockford, IL 61101). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (2505 School St, Rockford, IL 61101).
