LeRoy L. Layng Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LeRoy L. Layng of Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Layng and Virginia Layng (Hoopes); his great grandchild Isaiah; and his brother Charles. He is survived by: his wife Judith M. Buss; his children, Heather Harlston and Heath Layng; his grandchildren, Chantel Ware (Mike Hamilton), Damian Ware, Anthony Ware, Deanna Ware, Porsche Ware (Brian) and Bart Ware; his great grandchildren, Kamryn, Cayden, Alaysia, Trejon, Toriyanna, Marshall, Tayvion, Tianna, Khaleesi, Taraji and Tierica; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Layng, Janet Doherty and Barb Kretsinger. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115). The military honors will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
