With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John S. Erickson of Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on December 4, 2024 at the age of 81. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John S. Erickson to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gunnar Erickson and Esther Erickson (Erickson); and his cousin Steven Fjellman. He is survived by: his wife Dawn Gardella; his sons, Bryant Erickson (Karen), Michael Erickson (Sun) and Matthew Erickson; his grandchildren, Alexandra, Kaitlynn, Aria and Ace; his sister Miriam Horen (Richard); his nieces, Jennifer Gould, Julie Horen-Easley and Joanna Lamm; and his cousin Jonathan Fjellman.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Salvation Army Rockford Temple (500 S Rockford Ave, Rockford, IL 61108). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army Rockford Temple Corps.
