With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Douglas Schissel (Rockford, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 27, 2025 at the age of 80. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Douglas Schissel to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph N. Schissel and Martina L. Schissel. He is survived by: his sons, Scott A. (Valerie E.) and Michael D. (Jaynee N.); his grandchildren, Lisa A. (Eric D. Honkamp), Andrew J. Schissel, Luke A. Schissel, Lauren E. Honkamp, Alexandra C. Honkamp, McKinnon J. Schissel and Devyn M. Schissel; and his siblings, Dennis, Peter Schissel and Kathleen Green.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church (2400 Bell Ave, Rockford, IL 61103).
