It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joel B. Ferguson of Rockford, Illinois, born in New York, New York, who passed away on November 1, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Adams and Virginia Ferguson (Wilcox); and his siblings-in-law, William McGregor and Barbara Berg. He is survived by: his caregivers, CJ, Jen, Dr. Kalweit, Dr. Tiffanie Ferry and Tracy; his wife Elaine Swayze; his daughter Kerstin B. Ferguson; his granddaughter Bianka C. Franks; his siblings, Dana Uhrynowski (Peter), Cuyler Augustino (Ronnie), Alan Swayze (Sharon) and Warren Swayze (Suzie); and his siblings-in-law, Kay McGregor and Ronald Berg. He is also survived by 11 nephews, 5 nieces and many great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joel's name may be made to Rockford University or Youth Services Network.
