He was predeceased by: his parents, O. D. Porchia and Clara Mae Isom-Johnson; and his siblings, Eddie Mae McDaniel and Henry Lee Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Rosie Mae Porchia; his children, James Porchia Jr., Samuel Porchia (Shahriee Holliman), Stacey Porchia (Karen), Virginia Hanserd (Brian) and Jeanne Ellis (Robert); his brother-in-law James Hale (Cindi); and his siblings, Willie Lee Porchia (Janice), Mack Isom (Vickie), Otis D. Porchia (Gail), Philip Porchia, Esther Haney, Clarency Isom, Ollie Isom and Minnie Isom. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. (200 N Johnston Ave, Rockford, IL 61101).
